Wedding Cake Tastings

Finding the Perfect Wedding Cake Starts with Cake Tastings

At Ally & Eloise, we love meeting our brides and grooms in person to help them decide on a delicious cake flavor for their big day!

To schedule a cake tasting, fill out the form on this page.

What to Expect at Your Cake Tasting

Once you fill out the form on our weddings page here, we will contact you within the next 24-48 hours to talk cake flavors, designs, dates, and to schedule your cake tasting. Our tastings take place at our Forest Drive bakery location in Columbia. At your cake tasting, you can expect:

A personal meeting with Aleka Selig, the owner and baker at Ally & Eloise.

When you meet with Aleka, we'll have four to five cake samples ready for you to taste with assorted cake flavors, frostings, and fillings. We'll talk to you beforehand to learn about your tastes, so we can put together a menu just for you.

We'll also use this time to talk about wedding details including cake design, wedding date, number of guests, flowers, cake stands, and whether or not you'd like for us to deliver your cake.

Common Questions About Cake Tastings

1. What should I bring to my cake tasting?
This is a great time to talk about your vision for your wedding! If you have pictures of what type of cake design or dessert table you have in mind, you can bring those with you. Other than that, just bring an appetite!

2. Are wedding cake tastings free?
Yes! We want you to LOVE your wedding cake, so we offer free cake tastings for our brides to make sure we find the perfect flavors for your wedding cake.

3. Are dessert table tastings free?
Tastings for our classic dessert table items are free. However, we charge $50 for premium dessert table item tastings.

4. Do I need to schedule my cake tasting?
We prefer for our brides and grooms to schedule their cake tastings ahead of time. This will help you have the best experience because we'll be able to plan out cake samples that suit your specific tastes. Fill out this form to schedule your cake tasting.

5. What happens after the cake tasting?
After your tasting, we will send you a follow-up email that includes all the details we discussed. Once we confirm your wedding cake design, size, and flavor, we'll add you to our calendar! We will touch base and send your invoice about one month before your wedding. Until then, if you have any questions or changes, just let us know!
